A public hearing will be held by the Clearwater Township Planning Commission at a special meeting on August 24, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., in the Clearwater Township Hall, to consider a proposal to amend Ordinance 22 (Zoning), to rezone the land lying between Valley Road and the Rapid River, in Sections 14 and 15, from Recreational to Residential Single Family.
The language of the proposed amendment is:
The Township of Clearwater ordains: Whereas many of the properties on the north side of Valley Road in Sections 14 and 15, currently zoned Recreational, are long and narrow and fail to meet the required 4:1 width to depth ratio, and are restricted to five acre minimums in size, making the properties un-sellable as they stand, it is reasonable to change their designation to Residential Single Family as similar properties are in Sections 8 and 9; be it therefore ordained that the Sections 18.05 and 13.05 of Ordinance 22 (Zoning) be amended as follows.
That the item reading:
“Sections 14 & 15 — that land lying North of Valley Road.” be stricken from Section 18.05 (Boundaries of the Recreational District).
That two items be added to Section 13.05 (Boundaries of the Residential Single Family District):
“Section 14 –that land lying between the centerline of Valley Road and the thread of Rapid River.”
“Section 15 –that land lying between the centerline of Valley Road and the thread of Rapid River.”
This amendment shall become effective eight (8) days after being published in a newspaper of general circulation within the Township.
The public may submit written comments on the matter, prior to the meeting, to the Clearwater Township Hall, located at 5440 River Street in Rapid City, or by U.S. postal service to PO Box 1, Rapid City, MI 49676.
