Parks and Recreation Public Walk-Through

The Clearwater Township Parks and Recreation Committee invites the public to come see the planning options for the Old Iron Bridge Memorial at Freedom Park-West. Prein and Newhof, Grant and Engineering firm hired by the Clearwater Township Board to do grant writing and conceptualization for the Township, will be on site to answer questions and help provide information regarding the options for this Memorial Park.

Please come learn of the plans for this tribute to Clearwater Townships’ past and plans for generations to come to learn and enjoy our history.


Clearwater Township Request for Proposals

Clearwater Township is seeking bid proposals for snow removal for the following Township properties:

  1. Freedom Park road access and parking areas
  2. Heritage Park road access to include parking lot, maintenance garage drive and the walking trail
  3. Township Hall/Community Center parking lots
  4. The Rapid City Village sidewalks

Sealed bids only, mailed to: Clearwater Clerk PO Box 1, Rapid City, MI 49676; or delivered to the Township Hall office no later than close of business October 21st, 2021. Bids will be opened October 21st at the regular Township Board meeting.


Clearwater Township Request for Proposals

Clearwater Township is seeking bid proposals for the survey of the following Township properties:

  1. Freedom Park boundaries both east and west of Rapid City Road
  2. Heritage Park, to include the walking trail
  3. All Public Access corridors along Crystal Beach Road: Birch Street, Cedar Street, Oak Street, Maple Street, Pine Street, Division Street, and Lake Street (both sides of Crystal Beach Road).
  4. The Birch Street Township Pavilion site, the Cedar Street parking site
  5. The Torch River access site on Aarwood Trail

Planning Commission Regular Meeting

The Clearwater Township Planning Commission regular monthly meeting will be held November 1, 2021, at 7 pm, in the Community Center (aka the Little Red Schoolhouse). Zoom meeting invitation found here.


Parks and Rec Committee Regular Meeting

There will be a Clearwater Township Parks and Rec Committee Regular Meeting on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 6pm at the Community Center, located at 5407 River Street, Rapid City, MI.


Clearwater Township Special Election

Special Election will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. Polls will be open 7 AM to 8 PM at the Township Hall. View the sample ballot here.


Zoning Board of Appeals Regular Meeting

The Clearwater Township Zoning Board of Appeals regular quarterly meeting will be held January 3, 2022, at 7 pm, in the Community Center (aka Little Red Schoolhouse).

Clearwater Township is seeking applicants for the position of Grant Applications Writer. Experience is required; pay is negotiable. Kalkaska Public Library Announcement

The Kalkaska Public Library will be at the Clearwater Township Hall at 5440 River St., Rapid City, MI, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from 9A to 12N starting on September 11, 2019.  A selection of library books is available to check out as well as help with basic computer skills. Secure book returns can also be made at the Township Hall.  Canceled until further notice.
